Triathlon training in the morning has a very different effect on the body than triathlon training in the evening and triathletes can use this knowledge to tailor their triathlon training schedules based on the purpose of their workout. My biggest factor with when I workout is my kiddos and when the pool I go to for open swim has availability. But for me, a night swim workout is my favorite as I can crash right after, while running/biking gets me wired.
Hey Taren, have you done a video about a training diary? If not I think it might be an interesting one to do. Currently I’m trying to put one together, but get confused when I look at the forums and see what others do.
So, is this only true if you do your morning workout before breakfast?
I can’t fit all my workouts in the morning, that’s why I workout in the morning and in the afternoon 🙂 but highly prefer morning workouts.

I’ve found running in the afternoon is a lot harder especially after work because your body is more tired and also you have to be careful what you eat because trust me it won’t sit well in your stomach even 2-3 hours after eating.
I didn’t realize how much I would like pre – dawn workouts. My biggest reservation about it is lack of sunlight exposure since i need that for vitamin D production…:(

Personally I train fasted between 11am-2pm.
I try to do all my swims in the morning and do the riding and running in the evenings. Works best for me that way.
